Purpose for foundation
The committee of The Chemical Engineering Physical Properties was established
in the SCEJ, 1958. The committee edited the physical properties for the
chemical engineering and published the data books. The committee also held
the lecture meetings and training session for chemical engineers, and actively
joined the international conference for the phase equilibrium.
Recently, the physical properties required for the chemical engineering
have become diversified, for example, polymers and electrolyte solutions.
Search for environmental-responsive substances and process design through
the study of physical properties is much more important in many industry
fields including biotechnology and nanotechnology fields. Reflecting such
a situation, the division of physical properties was established in the
SCEJ on April, 2003 to promote mutual collaboration between the researchers
and engineers and to accommodate the several needs from the industries.
